Bonita Croft is a senior corporate legal executive and advisor on corporate governance and legal risk management. She has more than two decades of experience in large, publicly traded global energy companies, where she has contributed as an executive team member and a trusted advisor to boards of directors.
Bonita excels at developing effective corporate governance systems and at managing and mitigating complex legal and risk-management challenges, thereby supporting strategic performance.
Bonita has extensive experience in international business, litigation, commercial transactions, M&A and operational matters. She has negotiated and led the legal teams for numerous transactions across the globe, including mergers and acquisitions, financing, major asset transactions, intellectual property ventures, and international joint ventures.
A frequent speaker and mentor, Bonita is a leader in the areas of corporate governance, business ethics, anti-corruption, and international trade compliance. She has designed and implemented comprehensive programs for ethics, anti-corruption, and economic sanctions compliance, including training programs and whistleblower hotlines.
Bonita was appointed Queen’s Counsel to the province of Alberta in 2014. She is a graduate of the Directors Education Program with the Institute of Corporate Directors. She has served on the Calgary Police Commission since 2018.
